Urgent!

Then I saw another angel flying in midair , and He had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth -- to every nation, tribe, language and people”

Visiting for a Cruise

Tony and merlene Pitts, our former pastor and his wife, along with Pastor and Mrs. Merle Landis, Merlene’s father and mother, left on a five day cruise to Mexico and returned Thursday, Jan. 10. This was a going away gift from the Pascagoula, St. Elmo and Fairhope District. ..

A Blessed Event Marked

A baby shower was held for Chasity Broughton, Friday, January 4. Most of the ladies of the church attended with words of encouragement and blessings and the appropriate gifts. We look forward to seeing this lovely new life and pray God’s blessings on this beautiful new family in the making.

Steps to Christ Bible Study group is going well on Tuesday mornings, 11:00 - 12:00. At Donna Bumpers home in Silverhill. All ladies are invited. They are going through a work book and sharing some inspirational testimonies. It is a discipleship experience.

Goings and Comings

Kay & Lee Ritchie are down from Wisconsin for three months, she is an excellent pianist.

We hear that Phil Law has had heart surgery; we trust that he’s doing well.

Harold, Francis and Gladys went to Missouri last month to see the sisters brother.

An exploratory meeting was held at the St. Elmo church Tuesday, Jan. 15 in regard to a new pastor.

Community Services

We are thankful that the pantry was depleted during Christmas now we need to build up the food items. All contributions are essential: Canned foods, bottled juice, Flour, Sugar, etc.

Visits were made to four different families a week before Christmas and delivered about 400 food items.

Two families were helped with food before the new year.

A Disaster Relief Training session will be conducted in February.

Lady Wisdom’s Appeal

Proverbs 1: 20 “Wisdom cries aloud in the streets”

Church mission and Christian witness will never be terribly effective unless they are seen to be terribly urgent.

Share Him Mission Trip plans are in the making for August of 2008. Our Church is asked to raise $1,200. A place in Panama has been chosen. Kevin Hermecz will be one of the speakers & workers.

2008 and Counting

We have come this far in a wonderful journey of life that God has given us and at our request He is revealing to us the marvels of His creation and how to maneuver through this earthly maze of human problems and diverse thought.

Is the Spirit of God speaking to you more and more day by day? Do you detect His presence as you pray, read the Bible, relate to your family, neighbors and fellow believers? Do you look forward to the Sabbath and does it encourage you to worship and develop your faith in Jesus and and the keeping of His commandments? Also does this help you to be in an attitude of worship every day?

This year brings us nearer to the Blessed Hope. Courage!
